The Diocesan Mission and Pastoral Committee has prepared a draft Pastoral Scheme for:
This draft Scheme provides for:
(i) the termination of the team ministry established for the area of the benefice of Chagford, Gidleigh, Throwleigh, Drewsteignton, South Tawton, Spreyton, Hittisleigh, North Tawton, Bondleigh, Honeychurch, Sampford Courtenay, Moretonhampstead, Manaton, North Bovey and Lustleigh and the dissolution of the said benefice;
(ii) the creation of a new benefice of Chagford, Gidleigh, Throwleigh, Drewsteignton, South Tawton, Spreyton, Hittisleigh, Moretonhampstead, Manaton, North Bovey and Lustleigh, for the appointment of its first (interim) incumbent and his place of residence to be the parsonage house of the current Chagford et al benefice;
(iii) the creation of a new benefice of North Tawton, Bondleigh, Honeychurch and Sampford Courtenay, for the appointment of its first incumbent; and
(iv) the future patronage arrangements for the two new benefices
all in the diocese of Exeter.

Anyone may make representations to the Church Commissioners for or against all or any part or parts of the draft Scheme (please include the reasons for your views) by post or, preferably, by email to reach them no later than Monday 23rd February 2026.
